SEER aims to develop smart self-monitoring composite tools, capable of measuring multiple process and material parameters using embedded photonic multi-sensors. The SEER self-monitoring tool will provide real-time process control with unprecedented reliability. This is achieved through the doption of a multi-sensor approach that will comprise a temperature, a refractive index, and a pressure optical sensor, operating in the near infrared and all integrated on a miniature photonic integrated circuit (PIC).
